Hi,

My name is Maya and I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. 

At 8 years old, I started making holiday gift bags and selling them at craft fairs. This was the beginning of Maya’s Magnificent Bags. For years I would buy up holiday cottons from the fabric store and sell bags for families to wrap their gifts in. Eventually little me decided to expand the business into kids pajamas and scrunchies. 

When it came time to decide what to do with my life, I decided to pursue fashion design. Fashion wasn’t ever the true driving force for me in the beginning. It was always sewing. The idea of making something, a finished product; turning one beautiful thing into something else. And above all, I am absolutely obsessed with fabric. 

I left a small town in Vermont and moved to San Francisco to get my degree. I absolutely loved school. I loved devoting my time to something I am so passionate about.

I have moved all over the country the last few years, but have landed back in Vermont. And now I get to spend every day doing and sharing the thing that I love most in this world. 

So thank you for trusting me to make you something you love, because there is nothing else I would rather be doing.
